Uzbekistan: 22 judges have lost their positions since the beginning of the year
Aziz Sadirov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Court of Bukhara, who is also the Chairman of the Judicial Collegium for Economic Affairs, was dismissed by presidential decree for violating the judicial oath.
This is the second deputy to be removed from office for an unnamed violation of the law in the past two weeks.
In a widespread message from the press service of the Supreme Judicial Council, the specific reason for the dismissal is not specified.
In the first quarter of 2022, 22 judges were dismissed and 80 were disciplined. This became known following a press conference with the participation of representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council.
The judiciary has developed a unique set of measures to combat bribery. In order to form immunity from corruption, booklets “Don’t take bribes!” are put in the offices of all judges of the country. The textbook “Morality, ethics and responsibility of a judge” was published and distributed free of charge among all judges.
In 2021, 220 judges were brought to disciplinary responsibility. In the decision, they were called mistaken.
Earlier, ACCA wrote about how employees of the Administrative Court of Tashkent caused damage to the state for $765,000. Judges with their assistants issued about 5 thousand fake decisions without initiating administrative cases on traffic violations.
The group “Tashkent demolition” published the analysis of the judges of the Supreme Court who made deliberately illegal decisions. In the list of 20 persons, only in two cases, ten judges showed up. They perceive justice separately from the Constitution and the laws of the country. In particular, some of them were suing well-known construction firms that violated the rights of citizens during the demolition of houses.
According to the international organization World Justice Project, last year Uzbekistan ranked 85 out of 139 in the rule of law ranking.
