Sports official was convicted in Kazakhstan
For four years in prison, the Esil district court No.2 of the city of Nur-Sultan sentenced Bauyrzhan Mukashev, the director of the republican state-owned enterprise “Center for Olympic Training in Cycling”.
According to the Press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Mukashev was accused of embezzlement of 55 000 US dollars from the salary fund of the Olympic Training Center for Cycling. According to the Anti-Corruption Service, the official fictitiously employed people in the state-owned enterprise, who did not actually work there, and calculated them salaries and bonuses, which he then took for himself.
The report also notes that Mukashev fully compensated for the damage at the pre-trial investigation stage. However, the court sentenced him to four years in prison for embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale.
