Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan charged the Ministry of Internal Affairs to clear ranks
Prime Minister Muhammedkaly Abylgaziev held a meeting with the leaders of the power block. During the meeting, the Head of government expressed concern over recent incidents involving employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which caused broad public resonance and just criticism from citizens.
“The activities of the police are always under the close attention of citizens and should be considered not only in terms of fulfilling their priority tasks to ensure public order and security, but also from the point of view of ensuring the realization of human rights and freedoms. This is extremely important. The plans for reforming the police over many years have never been implemented in many ways. The low reputation and a certain crisis of management in law enforcement bodies should motivate the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to take decisive actions to reform the police,” Abylgaziev said.
According to him, today both society and the state are unison in their opinion about the need to urgently decide the most urgent problems of the police.
“In the ranks of the police, dishonest and unprofessional officers continue to engage in abuse and even concealment of crimes. They impede the progress of reforms and the austerity measures must be taken against them. The Ministry of Internal Affairs urgently needs to adopt a set of organizational and personnel innovations, having cleared its ranks of unscrupulous employees who spoil the image of the police,” the Head of government said.
