Nazarbaev appealed people for fighting against corruption more actively

The first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbaev, who heads the Republic’s Security Council, believes that all necessary measures have been taken to improve the anti-corruption system in the country. This was stated by the leader of the nation at a meeting with the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency Alik Shpekbaev.

At the same time, Nursultan Nazarbaev emphasized the importance of applying international experience in the fight against corruption in the framework of increasing the effectiveness of the Agency.

“We need to continue studying the experience of foreign countries and introduce the best practices to combat this type of crime,” Nazarbaev said.

At the same time, he pointed out that the state should actively support citizens who report corruption offenses.

“The people must actively combat corruption. It is necessary to report such offenses in a timely manner,” the Security Council chairman explained.

Recall that in Kazakhstan, there is a system of incentives for citizens who report corruption facts. To date, the amount of remuneration is from $195 to $655, depending on the severity of the crime. Bonuses are paid only after the corrupt official has been convicted and the sentence has entered into legal force.

Now the country’s authorities are considering the issue of increasing the size of bonuses. So, it is proposed to increase the maximum amount in cases, where the damage from the crime exceeds $6500, to 10% of the amount of the bribe or the amount of damage caused, but not more than a threshold level, for example, in the amount of $2620.
