Mortality in Turkmenistan breaks all records
The authorities of Turkmenistan continue to hide the real death rate among the population from COVID-19. An ACCA source said that only in the city of Balkanabat, the same number of people died in a year as in the past 5.5 years. Approximately the same statistics is in other cities of the country.
We checked this information using satellite photograph and asked our sources to determine the maximum number of new graves appearing during a year. We have already written that for the period of 2019-2020 in Balkanabat. The maximum number of deaths was 250 people. The average death rate was 240 people in this city. Our sources counted 1,368 graves that appeared between March 25, 2020 and March 29, 2021. These indicators indicate that in Balkanabat, the number of deaths in 1 year is the same as in the past 5.5 years. It’s worth noting that the density of graves in the cemetery also increased, which indicates that many new ones have appeared among the old graves. The population of the city of Balkanabat is approximately 110,000 people.
Our sources are confident that this mortality rate is typical for all large towns in Turkmenistan. In Ashgabat, the mortality rate is higher due to the high population density.
Overall, according to ACCA sources, the health situation remains dire. Medical facilities lack medicines, the level of professionalism is low, and there are not enough testers to identify the infected. Vaccinations in the country are made selectively. First of all, officials, security officials and their family members receive the vaccine. Many doctors received only one vaccination. In the past few months, doctors have seen a surge in the growth of morbidity among children, and an oral decree of the Minister of Public Health has been circulated to hospitals that patients with COVID-19 in each hospital should not exceed 30-35%. This has led to the fact that many patients have to combat the disease at home.
The government of Turkmenistan still doesn’t recognize the presence of the virus in the country, and the state media don’t cover this situation in any way.
