Kyrgyzstan: Two employees of Oshelectro enterprise were detained for corruption

The Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case against Oshelectro officials on the fact of corruption.

A criminal case was initiated under Article 336 “Corruption” on the fact of illegal write-off of accounts receivable for electricity by officials of Oshelectro OJSC. As a result, the state suffered damage in the amount of $1,280,500 (134,404,900 KGS).

“On suspicion of committing a crime, an inspector of the internal control sector of Oshelectro OJSC and the chief engineer of the electrical networks of Uzgen district were detained. They were placed in a temporary detention center,” the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

It should be reminded that earlier the former head of Oshelectro OJSC and the ex-head of the electrical networks of Nookot district were already detained in this case. The investigation continues. Other officials, involved in this crime, are being identified.
