Kyrgyzstan: the father of the ex-president’s son-in-law reimbursed the state $ 235,000

The total damage in the case of illegal enrichment against the elected representative of the people was about $ 588.2 thousand (50 million KGS). The rest sum should be received in the near future. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security.

The day before, the deputy Aliyarbek Abzhaliev, suspected of illegal enrichment, returned to Kyrgyzstan. On the evening of June 27-28, the parliamentarian crossed the border of Kazakhstan with Kyrgyzstan through the checkpoint “Ak-Zhol”.

“Working in the civil service, he acquired assets incomparable with his official income, in particular, more than 20 elite apartments, residential buildings in VIP towns of Bishkek, a boarding house in Issyk-Kul region, land in Issyk-Kul and Chui regions, and also real estate in Turkey and the UAE,” the State Committee for National Security reported earlier.

Despite the evidence against him, he wasn’t detained on returning to his homeland. Moreover, he wasn’t even put on the wanted list. Perhaps this is due to the fact that he is the father of the son-in-law of the ex-president Sooronbai Jeenbekov. His son is married to the daughter of the former president.
