Kyrgyzstan: The criminal case against the brother of the head of the State Committee for National Security was ceased

The criminal case against the brother of the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchibek Tashiev, Shayrbek Tashiev, was terminated. This was reported by the mass media of Kyrgyzstan.

The decision to terminate the criminal case against Shayrbek Tashiev was adopted by the City Court of Jalal-Abad on February 21. However, this became known only now.

Shayrbek Tashiev became a defendant in the case of organizing a rally in 2013 in Jalal-Abad. Then, on May 31, protesters in Jalal-Abad region demanded to denounce the agreement on Kumtor, to release the imprisoned deputies from the faction “Fatherland” (“Ata-Jurt”). The picketers blocked the road of Bishkek-Osh in the village of Barpy from 2 to 5 June. Shayrbek Tashiev was detained by employees of the State Committee for National Security. He was accused under the article “Public calls for a violent change in the constitutional order” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The case was considered according to the edition of the Criminal Code of 1997.
