Kyrgyzstan: Tashiev’s godson was detained for extortion

The godson of the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (Kamchibek Tashiev) was detained for extorting a bribe. This was reported by the press center of the Department.

On March 11, within the framework of the initiated criminal case under article 343 “Extortion of a bribe” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, upon receiving $860 (90,000 KGS) from a private entrepreneur, the godson of the head of the State Committee for National Security and an employee of Tash-Bulak rural administration of Suzak district were detained.

 “It was established that one of the detainees, being the godson of the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchibek Tashiev and using as a cover his family relations, colluded with an employee of Tash-Bulak rural administration and, by threats, extorted $1,150 (120,000 KGS) from a businessman,” the State Committee for National Security informed.

The detainees were placed in the temporary detention center of the Department of Internal Affairs of Jalal-Abad.
