Kyrgyzstan: State Secretary of the State Financial Supervision Authority is suspected of corruption

According to the State Committee for National Security, State Secretary of the State Service for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market Zhyldyz Nurmatova misappropriated $ 22.7 thousand for assistance in participating in the tender of an affiliated company.

In October 2020, Zhyldyz Nurmatova, having gained confidence of the entrepreneur, took misappropriated the funds in the amount of $ 22.7 thousand under the pretext of creating the necessary conditions for the participation of an affiliated company in the tender for the purchase of goods and services, which was held under her leadership.

“Also, for the financial support, Nurmatova assured the applicant of all-round assistance in finding job placement in the civil service, which provides for frequent foreign business trips at the expense of budgetary funds. In order to give the appearance of legitimacy to her actions, the State Secretary drew up an appropriate agreement indicating the purpose of using the borrowed funds,” the State Committee specified.

In addition, during the searches in the office and at the place of residence of Zhyldyz Nurmatova, seals of various state bodies and commercial structures were found, which she possibly used to forge documents, as well as contracts for the supply of goods and services with signs of fictitious nature.
