Kyrgyzstan: Raiymbek Matraimov was detained again and placed in temporary detention center

Ex-deputy chairman of the Customs Service, Raiymbek Matraimov, was detained and placed in a temporary detention center. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.

On February 18, in the framework of a criminal case on the fact of legalization (laundering) of criminal proceeds by the State Committee for National Security, ex-deputy chairman of the State Customs Service Raiymbek Matraimov was detained.

“Matraimov was placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security. Within 48 hours, the court will consider the issue of choosing a preventive measure against him for the period of investigation,” the State Committee said.

On February 11, a judge of Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek found ex-customs officer Raiymbek Matraimov guilty under part 1 of article 319 “Corruption” and sentenced him to a fine of $ 3,000 (260,000 KGS).
