Kyrgyzstan: Osh police officer detained for bribe extortion
The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan has started pre-trial proceedings on the fact of extortion of a bribe by employees of the Department of Internal Affairs in Osh.
On October 4, as a result of investigative and operational measures carried out jointly with the internal investigation service of the Osh Internal Affairs Department, a local police lieutenant was detained red-handed while receiving a bribe.
It is clarified that he demanded money for the termination of the criminal case on the fact of fraud.
“The detainee was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security pre-trial detention center,” the State Committee said.
A crime registered in the Unified Register of Misdemeanors and Crimes under Article 326 of Part 1 “Extortion of a bribe” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
