Kyrgyzstan: Head of the Legal department was detained for a bribe

The Anti-Corruption Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan registered the fact of extorting an especially large sum as a bribe by the head of the Resources’ Managerial office of the Legal department under the Supreme Court.

It was established that the head of RM office for preliminary conspiracy with officials of the Legal department extorted and received a bribe in the amount of about $43 000 (3 million KGS) from the head of LLC “С.Г.” for a positive solution concerning the question of this company’s winning in the tender for the overhaul of premises administrative building of one of the district courts.

As part of the ongoing investigative and operational measures, the head of the department was placed in the temporary detention isolator of the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS.

Pre-trial proceedings are currently underway.
