Kyrgyzstan: head of correctional colony detained while accepting bribe
The State Committee for National Security, within the framework of pre-trial proceedings on the fact of corruption, detained the head of Correctional Colony No. 31 of the State Penitentiary Service. This was reported in the press service of the department.
On October 7, the head of correctional colony number 31 was arrested red-handed while receiving a bribe.
It was established that the head of the correctional colony, using his official position, extorted money from a person serving a criminal sentence for preparing materials for his transfer to a minimum-security prison camp or parole.
“He was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic on the grounds of a crime under Article 319 of Part 1“ Corruption ”of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic,” commented by the State Committee.
