Kyrgyzstan: Court put blogger under house arrest

In Kyrgyzstan, the administrator of Facebook group “Bespredel.KG” [“Lawlessness.KG”], Aftandil Zhorobekov, was put under house arrest for fomenting of inter-regional strife. Such a decision was made by the Pervomaisky district court.

Note that the court session was held without relatives and supporters of Zhorobekov.

Recall that Aftandil Zhorobekov was detained on November 24 after fomenting inter-regional strife and placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security. He is accused of distributing publications that contain knowingly false and provocative information. Texts calling for inter-regional strife were left in the comments under the publications of “Bespredel.KG” by other users. Kyrgyz people on social networks expressed outrage at the actions of law enforcement agencies. The action “I / We Aftandil Zhorobekov” was launched.
