Kyrgyz Prime Minister was sentenced to 15 years in prison

The court sentenced Sapar Isakov to 15 years in prison and confiscation of property. The verdict was handed down by the Sverdlovsk District Court of Bishkek.

The judge Inara Gilyazetdinova read out the verdict, according to which at that time the head of the foreign policy department of the president’s apparatus, Sapar Isakov, was imprisoned for 15 years with confiscation of property and serving his sentence in a penal colony of high security. In addition, he was deprived of the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Order of Manas (II degree), and the right to occupy positions in government bodies for 3 years.

Recall that Sapar Isakov was kept in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security since the summer of 2018. With several former senior officials, he was convicted of corruption in the modernization of the heat electropower station in Bishkek.
