Kazakhstan: three high-ranking officials were detained for corruption during a week

In Kazakhstan, the fight against corruption in the mayor’s offices of regions and cities continues. According to the Agency for Combating Corruption, three high-ranking officials were convicted of bribery during the last week.

In Turkestan region, the anti-corruption fighters suspect the head of the licensing of educational activities of the Department for quality assurance in education under the Ministry of Education and Science. He is suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of $ 11.7 thousand from the director of a private school for providing a license for educational services. The official fully admitted his guilt.

In Chimkent, anti-corruption fighters detained a number of officials of the city administration of culture, development of languages ​​and archives. The detainees are suspected of attempting to bribe government officials on an especially large scale – almost $ 190,000. For this money, the administration’s employees wanted to achieve the termination of the criminal case initiated against them on the fact of embezzlement of budget funds.

In another southern region of the republic, in Kyzylorda region, the head of the Regional department of culture, archives and documentation was arrested. She is suspected of receiving a bribe of $ 2,325 from an entrepreneur for unhindered acceptance of the facility and timely transfer of funds.

Meanwhile, in Akmola region, the head of the Regional department of agriculture was detained on suspicion of receiving a large bribe from entrepreneurs of the region for making a decision that is within his terms of reference.
