Kazakhstan: Nazarbayev’s grandson feared to be killed
Aisultan Rakhat, the grandson of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was found dead in London. The British police do not give any details. The only thing that is known is that the cause of death was cardiac arrest. Nazarbayev’s grandson died on the night of August 16 at the age of 29 – 10 days before his 30th birthday.
It is possible that Aisultan Rakhat died as a result of a drug overdose, since he was a drug addict and even underwent appropriate treatment. However, there are other versions of the reasons for his death, including murder. The version is not unfounded, especially when you consider that Aisultan himself foresaw such a development of events. Back on January 22 of this year, Aisultan Nazarbayev wrote on his Facebook page that soon somebody would try to kill him.
Aisultan Rakhat (previously he bore the surname Nazarbayev) was born on August 26, 1990. His mother is the eldest daughter of the first president of Kazakhstan, Dariga Nazarbayeva. Father – disgraced politician, former ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria Rakhat Aliyev, who committed suicide on February 24, 2015 – he hanged himself in the bathroom of the cell of the medical unit of the pre-trial detention center of the Vienna prison Josefstadt. In the blood of Rakhat Aliyev, drugs were found – barbiturates.
Aisultan graduated from the British Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, served in the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan. He was fond of football, even played in the youth team of Portsmouth, and became the bronze medalist of the English Championship.
In 2017, he was vice-president of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan for relations with international organizations FIFA, UEFA, and national associations.
Aisultan was married to Aliya Boranbayeva, the daughter of the famous Kazakh businessman Kairat Boranbayev, McDonald’s franchisee in Kazakhstan and Belarus, one of the top 50 most influential businessmen in the country (7th place) and the top 50 richest businessmen of Kazakhstan (15th place), whose fortune is estimated at $ 445 million. Among other things, Kairat Boranbayev is the owner of the Almaty football club Kairat.
The first scandals involving Aisultan began in 2016 when he wanted to become the president of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan, which from 2007 to 2014 was headed by Adilbek Dzhaksybekov (former head of the presidential administration, secretary of state, defense minister, mayor of Astana). Dzhaksybekov handed over his post to Yerlan Kozhagapanov, and after him, the federation was headed by the famous footballer Seilda Baishakov, but not Aisultan.
“By the time Kozhagapanov left, some reforms had been carried out in football: a new list of founders, new provisions of the electoral regulations. As a result, Dzhaksybekov has full control over our football: today his pocket people and companies provide the majority in any vote. Under such conditions, democratic elections were not even close. Of course, a small talk to Dzhaksybekov: “Let me take football. I promise to listen to your wise advice ”- this is exactly what was expected of me. I’m 99% sure that in that case, I would sit in the chair of the FFK president. But with such conversations, I was not suitable even to my own grandfather! They didn’t understand that it’s not pride, not lust for power, and not an ostentatious success. I’m not like them. For me, honor and conscience are the main values. And this only once again showed how medieval thinking our “elites” have. I am really disgusted to realize that such people are surrounding the President and claiming total control over the country. The dreams of such high-ranking people about unlimited power over all events in the country is the biggest threat to our future. When they unite in coalitions and clans, argue among themselves for influence, consider everything through the prism of their financial interests – Kazakhstan freezes in development or even rolls back decades, ”Aisultan wrote about this then.
By the way, at the same time, another Kazakhstani oligarch, Bulat Utemuratov, who, according to Aisultan Rakhat, with the help of his information portal informburo.kz, actively published articles on the failure of the presidential grandson on the way to the FFK chair.
The next scandal involving Islutan broke out in January 2017. On his Facebook page, the presidential grandson named by name all those whom he considered “enemies of the people” and “thieves.”
“There are many people in the president’s team, most of them are professionals. But, unfortunately, some do not cope with the symptoms of star fever. It seems like it’s not right to blame them – the disease is serious, and it has broken so many strong people over the centuries. But, the fact remains: these people, unfortunately, are far from the interests of the country and the people, they are locked in their own selfish and mercantile interests. Such sick people, by definition, are no longer able to solve complex government problems. How can they help my grandfather during a period of double dedication work? We all see how Mr. Karim Massimov (head of the National Security Committee) clears the President’s entourage of corrupt officials. This old phrase “enemy of the people” is no longer used anywhere, but I think it is extremely appropriate concerning high-echelon officials who steal. Because they do badly not to each other, but the people. At such a moment, the main thing is not to turn systemic work into a “witch hunt” – the goal must remain pure – to catch thieves and convict them according to the law. I wonder if the chairman of the National Bank, Daniyar Akishev, and the chief of staff of the President, Dzhaksybekov, will eventually retain their chairs. After all, their direct subordinates are suspected of committing grave corruption and state crimes. And I know the aforementioned gentlemen well, and I will never believe that someone managed to do serious business behind their backs in secret … Checks will show us whether Messrs. Utemuratov and Tasmagambetov have contaminated themselves with dirty deeds. But if today you ask anyone on the street – they will tell you that these people robbed the people,” Aisultan shared his thoughts.
In October 2017, Aisultan was relieved of his post in the Football Federation of Kazakhstan. A month before this event, Nazarbayev’s grandson admitted that he takes drugs.
“Only a month and a half has passed since the death of my grandfather, academician Mukhtar Aliyev, and my father, Rakhat Aliyev, committed suicide in an Austrian prison. This is the first time life has dealt a double blow to me with such a crushing force. Young Aisultan, who was spoken of as a posh, bathed in happiness, was the most crushed person on the planet. At this moment, you are ready to be left immediately without arms and legs, just not to experience this pain, mercilessly tearing your soul. My grandfather Nursultan Nazarbayev showed particular concern. The President of the country solved the problems of 17 million people during the day, and in the evening he devoted all his attention to one grandson. At that moment, I could not fully realize how much energy, health, and strength it cost him such an increased attention to me. Therefore, I allowed myself the most terrible and stupid weakness. I decided to look for sedation in drugs, ”Aisultan said.
After some time, the grandson of the first president of the country disappeared for a year and a half from social networks. He showed up again only in December 2018. As reported at the time by the former chairman of the NSC, Rakhat Aliyev’s associate Alnur Musayev, Aisultan was forcibly placed in one of the private prisons in Russia to be treated for drug addiction. At the same time, Musayev noted that the imprisonment was made after Aisultan challenged influential people in Kazakhstan.
On January 23, 2019, this information was confirmed by Aisultan himself:
“Having escaped from confinement in a private Russian prison, I returned home without my documents – everything was stolen and destroyed. There I was placed by “well-wishers” from among the close people whom I had to trust. Therefore, when I came back, I did not ask anyone for help, and as an ordinary citizen of my country I went to Kazakhstani authorities for the restoration of documents, ”he wrote then.
In April 2019, Aisultan posted a video about his stay in Mecca, where he makes a pilgrimage. And then he disappeared again until January 2020. After his return to Facebook, Aisultan said that since June 2019, his mother Dariga Nazarbayeva and Alnur Musaev have used his social media accounts.
“I was in prison and I had a lot of problems with my relatives,” he explained.
Regarding his stay in prison, it is worth clarifying that in October 2019, a London court sentenced Aisultan to a year’s probation for attacking a British police officer in June of the same year. The court ordered Nazarbayev’s grandson to serve 140 hours of community service, continue treatment for drug addiction, pay a fine of about $ 1,300, and pay damages of about $ 6.5 thousand. As the British media reported then, Aisultan Nazarbayev was detained on June 5 in someone else’s apartment in Covent Garden in a house on Tavistock Street. He climbed onto the balcony of somebody’s apartment and threatened to commit suicide. Eyewitnesses were forced to call the police. During a scuffle with a policeman, Aisultan bit a law enforcement officer. By the way, two days before this incident, he threatened to jump from the balcony at the International Park Plaza Hotel.
On January 22, 2020, after admitting that they would try to kill him, Aisultan completely blew up the Internet space, claiming that he was not Nursultan Nazarbayev’s grandson, but his son. In an interview, he explained that he learned about this fact from the archives of his father. Besides, Aisultan promised to provide some important documents.
“Soon, I promise that I will give it to you … The main thing is that I do not die anywhere. You know how they killed my father. Rather, Alnur Musayev and my mother killed my father, ”he said.
However, Aisultan, who returned to social networks, was no longer the same. Each of his new posts was with a religious touch. He talked more and more about divine power and wrote that God was with him.
“If I am still alive, then it is only by the will of God, and I believe that God is one and a particle of God lives in each of us. After all, God is one and he is everywhere! And he sent us the gift of Jesus, in fact, the Son from the holy spirit, who has already taken upon himself the sins of all mankind! And without any doubt: He will show us the way! ”, – wrote Aisultan on February 1.
On February 13, he published the other scandalous facts about what is happening in Kazakhstan:
“I am aware of the high-scale corruption between the government of Russia and Kazakhstan. I’m talking about billions of US dollars stolen from the people of Kazakhstan. I found myself in the center of this greed and gluttony of my family, and in particular, my mother (Dariga Nazarbayeva and her husband Kairat Sharipbayev). Since spring 2015, Kairat Sharipbayev and my mother started a behind-the-scenes war against my former father-in-law, Kairat Boranbayev. And the entourage of Nursultan Nazarbayev began to turn him against my father-in-law. It was all about the Gas Contract, where Kazakh gas was sold to Russian Gazprom for a penny. There is a cushioning company and it generates a profit of about $ 1.5 billion per year. The money settles in Singapore and there it is divided between the Russian elite, the wallets of Vladimir Putin, and in particular, Alexei Miller, the head of the Russian Gazprom. As for Kazakhstan, the profit of about $ 700 million a year is divided between Timur Kulibayev (Nursultan Nazarbayev’s elder son-in-law) and Kairat Boranbayev, my former father-in-law. So, when my mother and her husband, Kairat Sharipbayev, wanted to take this contract for themselves, from Timur Kulibayev and Kairat Boranbayev, I found myself at the epicenter of this greed. It turns out that they were not satisfied with what they already have! I took the side of my father-in-law, and thereby put myself in jeopardy! I could not understand my mother for a long time. Where are her maternal qualities? How can you waste your son, whom she carried for 9 months under her heart? For some money … And a principle. After my statements, I wonder how they will also hang the deaths of some bankers on me! This system is too predictable and the convolutions do not work for them! I have nothing to lose. All that I had – a wife, a daughter, a son – you took everything away from me! ”, Aisultan said.
On February 22, Aisultan said that he had reconciled with his mother, Dariga Nazarbayeva, but “not for the sake of money or his own welfare, but out of mercy and charity.”
In March, in his next post, Aisultan announced that the head of the National Security Committee Karim Massimov and Timur Kulibayev were behind Nazarbayev’s resignation.
“These are two people who so willingly wanted to have their tame President Tokayev. I agree that Nursultan Nazarbayev made many mistakes, but now the time has come for him to return to the presidency, and it does not matter who thinks what, but it is important that he returns with the determination to correct the current situation, he will have enough time and strength and wisdom to correct his mistakes! They took one father away from me, but I won’t give the other one to you! ”Aisultan threatened his enemies.
Then in April, there was a series of posts of repentance on Aisultan’s page. He asked to forgive him for accusations of corruption and other sins of Timur Kulibayev, Karim Masimov, Kairat Boranbaev, Imangali Tasmagambetov, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev (for calling him a tame president) and Nursultan Nazarbayev:
“I sincerely want to ask your forgiveness for deceiving you for many years and behaving like the last scum on earth! I flew from Vienna on the instructions of Musayev to infiltrate your circle and become the future President, and then I had to return Rakhat Aliyev and Alnur Musayev to their homeland!
I was young, and I loved my father very much, I was ready for anything for him! Musaev handled me so skillfully. And with each of our communication and the year, I understood how close you are in spirit and how much I love you! I ask the one and only God for forgiveness for all the harm done to you! I’ve done so much harm to you, and I don’t even know if you can forgive me! You gave me everything and I am very grateful to you and God! ”, – wrote Aisultan on April 25.
Since then, he finally fell into religiosity, wrote that the city of Nur-Sultan would be the new Jerusalem, he renamed himself Aisultan Jesus Rahat and began to call himself the messenger of the One and Only God.
“The one and only God asks me to convey to President Tokayev the following: return Dariga Nazarbayev to the chair of the Senate Speaker, just as you moved her from there, this is the only right choice for you and the way out from under the noose that is tightening around your neck! God is loving, therefore he always gives chances! If you do not fulfill his will, then you will leave this world out of the blue! Together with your black magic, esoterics, shamans, sorcerers, and all the rest of the devilish offspring, near which you spin and where you draw your strength from! This is not politics, and not games, and not my will and not the will of my mother and not the will of anyone! Remember this is God’s will! ”- he wrote in June.
Aisultan’s last post is dated July 17. In it, he addresses billionaire Vladimir Kim with an appeal to stop stealing goods from Kazakhstan.
“Enough to hide behind Nursultan Nazarbayev! Please, behave like men and answer with dignity in front of everyone! For the chaos that you have done in Kazakhmys Company and Kaz Minerals Company! I worked under you and never spoke badly about you, although I was sick of the mess that you made there! Your spiritual values are lost, you are like a deadbeat with perverted addictions! If I write this, it means that God and I have all the necessary evidence of your corrupt and perverted life! And third, explain how it turns out that the company Kazakhmys, now KazMinerals, which is on the stock market in London. Why has she never paid a solid dividend to her stock buyers? After all, this is the advertising of Kazakhstan, and the essence of the country that El Basy wants to make! Why, when a large influx of money came to KazMineral, but it was immediately spent, for an unreasonable amount that was spent on acquiring the birthplace of Roman Abramovich and where you overpaid the price for it in 4 times the amount, moreover it is in Siberia! And knowledgeable people will understand that logistics from Siberia to China are very expensive! You just want to steal everything and wherever your pathetic hand has not touched! I have a lot of documentation on how you steal money from Kazakhstan and its people! “My family deeply grieves over the death of our beloved Aisultan, and at this very difficult hour for us, we hope that the public will show understanding and respect for our irreparable loss,” says her appeal, published on the website of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation.
