Kazakhstan began to fight corruption with the help of “stars”

In Kazakhstan, the fight against corruption has reached a new level. For several weeks, the most famous people of the country (actors, athletes, producers, singers) have been calling on citizens to fight bribery in all its forms.

At the same time, the Anti-Corruption Agency proudly reports about each new video message of the next “star” and stubbornly calls it all the anti-corruption challenge “Together for Kazakhstan without corruption”.

According to experts, apparently, the Anti-Corruption Department is not familiar with the basic principles of challenge. Challenge is when a person records a video on his/her own initiative and puts it on his/her page with a call to repeat the same action to some of his/her friends or an unlimited circle of users. In this perspective, video calls of Kazakh stars fall under the concept of “challenge” with a stretch, because all the videos are posted almost exclusively on the pages of the Anti-Corruption Department on social networks, but not on the personal pages of the “stars”. And they become a challenge when they gain thousands of views. However, most of the videos of Kazakh celebrities don’t even reach hundreds of views.

“Hello! My name is Asel Sagatova. I am against corruption. Let’s not forget that this is our common responsibility and it all depends on each of us,” the well-known actress Asel Sagatova says in the video. At the same time, this video message is not on her page in Instagram, but there are contacts for those who want to collaborate with the “star” in other projects.

The well-known Kazakh producer Ermek Tursynov was also ashamed to post his anti-corruption appeal on his Facebook page.

“Let’s not stand aside and fight together. Together for Kazakhstan without corruption,” he says in a video, which was posted by anti-corruption officials.

True, there are exceptions. For example, Olympic champion in weightlifting, two-time world champion athlete Maya Maneza posted her video on Facebook, but didn’t hurt her Instagram subscribers.

But fans of stars, who want to look at their anti-corruption heroes, can subscribe to the page of the Anti-Corruption Department to be aware of who else, besides Akan Satayev, Asel Sagatova, Ermek Tursynov, Kairat Nurtas, Nurlan Abdullin, Saken Maygaziev, Toregalei Toreali, Olga Shishigina and others, decided to participate in this event.
