In Uzbekistan, a citizen cut his stomach in a video message to the President

On February 23, a resident of Karakalpakstan, Baghdat Ismailov, posted a video message to the President Mirziyoev, where he cut his stomach in protest against the oppressions of local security officials.

This is his second appeal. For the first one, the special services of Karakalpak demanded to apologize to the head of the country for the request to issue him documents. As then, and now Baghdat claims, “There is no work, there is also no income. Karakalpaks wander around the world to feed their families.” In an expressive monologue using curse words, Baghdat said that he would not apologize for the “naked truth”, after that he slashed himself several times over the body.

One of the dissident groups of Karakalpak activists abroad calls Baghdat the leader of a certain democratic party of a sovereign republic that is a part of Uzbekistan.
