In Turkmenistan, people die en masse due to COVID-19
According to ACCA sources in Turkmenistan, in the city of Balkanabad (formerly Nebit-Dag), people are dying en masse from COVID-19. The city has a critical situation with medicines and masks. According to doctors, hospitals received an order from the Ministry of Health that all antiviral drugs, stocks of medical masks, and several lung ventilators were urgently sent to Ashgabat.
ACCA sources also reported that doctors were summoned to the prosecutor’s office and against receipt asked not to disclose secrets and threatened with prison in case of disobedience. Our source close to the Health Department of the Balkan velayat said that 5,000 people in the city of Balkanabat were tested for COVID-19. As a result, more than 2000 tests were positive. The cost of one test is about $ 30. Also, the Balkan velayat did not receive any of the humanitarian aid provided by the World Health Organization in the amount of $ 430,000. All humanitarian aid was taken by Ashgabat. The regional infectious diseases hospital is overcrowded and does not accept patients, ambulances take corpses to the cemetery between calls, however, nobody disinfects ambulances, since there are no funds.
An ACCA source said that from the beginning of March to the present day, over 1,300 people have died from COVID-19 in Balkanabat. We have verified this information with Google.
