In Kyrgyzstan, police officers, who planted drugs on businessman, were detained

In Kyrgyzstan, two employees of the capital’s Anti-Drug Trafficking Service in a fabricated criminal case against an entrepreneur were detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center.

It is reported that employees of the capital’s Drug Enforcement Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, commissioned by the businessman’s ex-wife, opened a criminal case against the businessman in order to create the conditions for taking his business.

“In February 2019, the above-mentioned employees, having entered into a conspiracy with the ex-wife of the businessman for a monetary reward, planted 32 grams of hashish in the businessman’s car. Then he was detained on this fact,” the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

As part of the pre-trial proceedings, two employees of the Drug Enforcement Service were involved in the crime. Currently, they are detained and placed in pre-trial detention center №1 in Bishkek.

Crime was registered in the Unified Register of crimes and misconducts under Article 320 of Part 2 “Abuse of official position”, Article 340 of Part 2 “Unlawful accusation of committing a crime”, Article 341 “Forcing to give false testimonies” and Article 342 “Falsification of evidence” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Necessary investigative steps are being taken to identify other persons involved in these crimes.
