In Kyrgyzstan, military commissioner was detained for receiving bribe
A Kyrgyz citizen addressed with a statement to the Financial Police regarding the military commissioner of Ton district (Issyk-Kul region). He said that the military commissioner received a bribe of $1000 from him for providing a military card.
“During the transfer, it was found that the card was fake and didn’t have any legal force. However, the military commissioner took the fake card issued by him and since then has not returned the previously received money,” the applicant said.
On September 4, officers of the Financial police, together with officers of the Military Prosecutor’s Office and the applicant, went to Kadamzhay district of Batken region, where the military commissioner of Ton region was transferred to a new post.
“During the meeting, when returning money [the previously received bribe], the military commissioner of Kadamzhay district of Batken region was detained. The man pleaded guilty. At the time of the search, large amounts of money were found in the office,” the Financial police explained.
The detained military commissioner was placed in a garrison guardhouse. Pre-trial proceedings are currently underway.
