In Kyrgyzstan, Interior Ministry officers were detained for committing crimes

An employee of the Main Directorate of the Department for Organized Crime Control, in collusion with a police patrol officer, tried to hide the fact of the beating of two citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

It is reported that on August 28, 2019, in Bishkek, U. Belekov and A. Moldozhiev were severely beaten by the citizens of Kyrgyzstan K. Seitbekov and J. Bapyshov.

The employee of the Organized Crime Control of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Chui region K. Bapyshov (the namesake of one of those who beat) arrived at the crime scene. In order to prevent the timely disclosure of the crime, he and the police officer of Bishkek Central Internal Affairs Directorate, after identifying the suspects, entered into a conspiracy and consciously hid the persons involved in the crime.

This incident was registered by the Prosecutor’s office of Lenin district of Bishkek in the Unified Register of crimes and misconduct on the facts of abuse of official position and concealment of a grave crime by the employees of the Internal Affairs bodies of Kyrgyzstan on the grounds of crimes specified by Part 2 of the Article 320 and Part 1 of the Article 348 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The investigation of the crime was entrusted to the State Committee for National Security of the Republic in Bishkek.

On September 6, 2019, on suspicion of having committed the aforementioned crimes, police officers were detained and taken in a temporary pre-trial detention center of the National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
