In Kyrgyzstan, a police colonel shot at the offender on the highway

The head of the Department of Organized Crime Control under the Bishkek’s Main Department of Internal Affairs, Nurlan Amangulov, shot at a driver with whom he didn’t share the road.

According to preliminary data, the incident took place on the morning of October 9 in Bishkek, at the intersection of the Southern Highway and Alymkulov Street.

The injured driver with a gunshot wound to his left hand was delivered to the Bishkek Research Center of traumatology and orthopedics.

According to the victim, the police colonel cut him at traffic lights, after that there was a skirmish. As a result of the conflict, Nurlan Amangulov shot a pistol at him.

The metropolitan police department commented on the police colonel’s shooting on the road. According to them, the service “102” of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek received a message that a fight was taking place at the intersection of Masaliev and Alymkulov streets.

“Officers of the Lenin District Department of the Internal Affairs went to the place of the call, where it turned out that at about 8:20 at the intersection of Masaliev and Alymkulov streets, two drivers did not share the road. The driver of Toyota Camry went out and immediately introduced himself as the head of the Department of Organized Crime Control, Nurlan Amangulov, and said that he was in a hurry to work. However, the second driver, getting out of Toyota Remix, ignored that Amangulov was a police officer and, after a verbal skirmish, unexpectedly hit Nurlan Amangulov in the face and began to threaten, holding an unknown object in his hands,” the police department said.

According to the General Department of the Internal Affairs, Amangulov shot at the offender because of a life threat.

“Amangulov, took out a personal traumatic gun and fired a warning shot into the air. However, the driver continued the offensive movement against the police officer, so Amangulov fired aside,” the department emphasized.

 The injured driver on this fact wrote a statement to the Lenin District Department of the Internal Affairs. The fact was registered in the Unified Register of crimes and punishments under the article “Hooliganism” of the Criminal Code, and pre-trial proceedings were launched.
