The prosecutor Ulan Chalbaev, who was detained for a bribe of $200 000, was sentenced to 5 years. Such a decision, on November 19, was made by Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek.
On November 18, the court reported that the case was under consideration and no court verdict was expected in the near future.
The same information was confirmed by the defendant’s lawyer, who filed a petition for familiarization with the physical evidence of $ 200 000 in the courtroom, but the judge left the petition open.
However, the next day, on November 19, the judge convicted the prosecutor Ulan Chalbaev.
Recall that the trial against Chalbaev was held behind closed doors. According to investigators, Chalbaev extorted a bribe of $ 200 000 for commutation of the sentence from the former member of Parliament Karganbek Samakov.
