In Kazakhstan, the Head of Youth Center was convicted of bribe
In Kyzylorda region, the Head of the Regional Youth Resource Center, 26-year-old Abylaykhan Sabanbaev, was sentenced.
According to the local Anti-Corruption Department, Sabanbaev was appointed to the post of Head of the Youth Resource Center about 6 months ago. In August, he demanded a bribe in the amount of $260 from one of his subordinates for dismissal and protection. However, the employee did not agree with such situation and addressed to the Anti-Corruption Department for help. Employees of the department developed a plan of operation and a few days later Sabanbaev was taken red-handed when receiving a bribe.
According to the court verdict, the young bribe taker was sentenced to a fine of $5195. In addition, he is forbidden for life to occupy positions in the public service.
It should be added that the Youth Resource Center is subordinate to the Department of Youth Policy of Kyzylorda region, which is part of the regional municipality.
“After such a negative event – the first in the Republic, we want to form a strong immunity among young people against corruption offenses, including everyday corruption. We also urge young people to an uncompromising struggle against corruption!” Ardak Erseytov, the Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Kyzylorda region, told reporters on this occasion.
