In Kazakhstan, the former mayor is suspected of forgery

Another high-profile investigation was launched by the Anti-Corruption Service of Kazakhstan. Among the suspects are the former mayor of the city of Balkhash, the Head of the administration of the mayor’s office and other officials.

According to the Press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Balkhash officials are suspected of abuse of power and official forgery, as a result of which the state was damaged in the amount of more than 7.7 thousand dollars.

As follows from the case file, the Head of the mayor’s office, deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for 3 years, took the wheel of a company car and got into an accident. City hall officials, including the Head of the city, tried to hide this fact of the traffic accident.

Moreover, in order to exempt the Head of the apparatus from the obligation to compensate for a broken official car, the city administration devises and implements a cunning plan: the car, which, by the way, cannot be repaired and restored, is transferred to the balance of the subordinate city hall’s enterprise “SuZhyluTrans” as a replenishment of the charter capital.

A pre-trial investigation is ongoing against all suspects. The final decision regarding the suspects, with the determination of the degree of their guilt, will be made by the court.
