In Kazakhstan, police officers were accused of beating a handicapped girl
Another scandal over the abuse of the detainee flares up in Kazakhstan. Aktau resident Natalya Murashova accused traffic police officers of Nur-Sultan of beating her handicapped daughter Anastasia Murashova. The video of the woman’s appeal was posted by the Republican Public Association “Uran”.
“My daughter Anastasia is a handicapped person of the first group since her childhood,” says Natalya Murashova. “In Nur-Sultan, my daughter came to the station to purchase tickets. The cashier offered her tickets for $130. Nastya, of cause, was indignant, but the cashier called the police. Then the police took her to their office and began to mock her. They beat her, humiliated her! They filmed all this on video. They laughed, said that she can shoot porn films. Naturally, my daughter could not resist and tried to protect herself, since they both strangled her and beat her. She bit one of the police officers. What else did my child have to do? She was not allowed to contact me for two days. I did not know where she is. I sounded the alarm, appealed to 115 (call-center of the General Prosecutor’s office of Kazakhstan, ACCA’s comment). Everything was without result. They told me where to get off. I ask you to respond, help, do not remain indifferent. Protect my daughter, please!”
According to ACCA, the incident occurred on August 6. Anastasia Murashova really arrived at the capital’s railway station to purchase a return ticket home. The cashier of “Kamkor Travel” first told the girl that there were no tickets, and then offered her an inflated ticket – for $130. It should be noted that the usual cost of train tickets on this route is five times less – from $23.
When the girl became indignant, the cashier called the police. The video shows how the police strangle the girl and beat her in the solar plexus. Defending herself against officers, girl hits back. Now she is required to pay a fine of $2.5 thousand for an attack on police officers.
Meanwhile, the transport police of Nur-Sultan said that the handicapped girl was “moderate” intoxicated, and the police detained her not for a scandal near the ticket office, but for appearing in public places while intoxicated. In addition, a pre-trial investigation is underway against Murashova under the article “Use of violence against a representative of authority”.
