In Kazakhstan, official and military officer were convicted for bribes
The Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan has identified new bribe takers.
According to the report, S. Aydarkenov, the chief specialist of the Transport control inspectorate of Nur-Sultan, regularly took bribes from large-sized transport entities for the general protection of their activities.
“On December 3 of this year, by the verdict of the district court of Baikonur No.2, Aydarkenov was found guilty of repeatedly taking bribes; he was sentenced to a fine of $68 000, with life deprivation of the right to occupy positions in the public service,” the Anti-Corruption Agency noted.
Meanwhile, in Almaty, the military court found N. Koybakov guilty of bribery. He was the commander of the staff battalion of military unit 61993, which relates to the air assault troops of the Ground forces of the Armed forces of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the Anti-Corruption Agency, Koybakov received $260 from a soldier as a reward for easing his military service for one month.
“By the verdict of the military court of the garrison of Almaty, the commander was convicted of the bribe and was sentenced to a fine of $7.7 thousand with life deprivation of the right to hold positions in the public service,” the Ministry said in its statement.
