In Kazakhstan, an official took bribes from people with disabilities
Employees of the Anti-Corruption Agency launched a pre-trial investigation against the deputy head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of Mangistau region on suspicion of repeated bribes.
According to the report, the official systematically took money from people with disabilities as a reward for illegally accelerating the assignment of disability.
The video, circulated by the press service of the department, shows how the official, accompanied by anti-corruption fighters, goes to her apartment and takes out an envelope with money from the closet. On all banknotes, when using ultraviolet, there was the inscription “para” (bribe).
They did not detain the bribe taker, as she fully admitted her guilt, repented, and signed a commitment to immediately surrender to the investigator.
It should be noted that the employees of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of Mangistau region not the first time have come to the attention of anti-corruption fighters. So, in October last year, as ACCA previously reported, two employees of the same department were caught for bribes: the head of the Department for Coordination of Employment and Social Programs, who took bribes in the amount of 500 to 1000 US dollars from representatives of foreign companies for unhindered issuance and extension of work visas to foreign citizens working in the region, and deputy head of the Department for Coordination of Employment and Social Programs, who took an air-conditioner as bribe from her boss, who wanted her to shut her eyes to his bribery.
