In Kazakhstan, an official took air-conditioner as bribe

Representatives of the Kazakh state apparatus do not cease to amaze the citizens. Everyone has got accustomed that every second official in the country is corrupt, but the size and form of bribes are amazing.

According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, this time the deputy head of the Department for the coordination of employment and social programs of Mangystau region distinguished herself.

She is suspected of receiving a bribe in the form of an air conditioner from her supervisor for general patronage at work. Here, of course, the question may arise “How did it happen that the head was forced to give a bribe to his deputy?” The fact is that the deputy was the chairman of the state commission on the attraction of foreign labor force. And this leader was guilty of the fact that he himself received bribes in the amount of from 500 to 1000 US dollars from representatives of foreign companies for the unhindered issuance and extension of work visas to foreign citizens working in the region. The head, by the way, is now also under investigation. The final decision regarding the suspects, determining the degree of their guilt, will be made by the court.
