Financial Police will be liquidated in Kyrgyzstan

The resolution on the liquidation of the service was signed by the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov. The rationale for the decision states that the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes ineffectively fulfills its functions and acts only as a punitive body.

It’s specified that according to official data, the level of the shadow economy in the republic is $ 1.5 billion (130 billion KGS), or 23.6% of GDP. Whereas independent experts note that it’s much higher and reaches 43% of GDP.

“This testifies to the improper performance by the Financial Police of its functions. In addition, independent experts and representatives of the business community hear complaints about the activities of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes in terms of the corruption of this body, as well as its illegal interference in entrepreneurial activity,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasizes.
