In Turkmenistan, the head of President’s Security service was arrested

The former chairman of the Migration Service of Turkmenistan, Meylis Nobatov, was arrested for especially large bribes. Nobatov used his position for selfish purposes and was engaged in extortion.

The official’s illegally acquired property: luxury homes, expensive cars, jewelry, a large amount of money were confiscated.

The investigation also established that Nobatov had a second wife Bibidzhemal D. born in 1982. The ex-official purchased an elite four-room apartment and an expensive car for his second wife.

The investigation has not yet been able to determine the exact extent of the damage from Nobatov’s corruption.

Nobatov served as head of the Migration Service until November 2017. Then, he headed the President’s Security service.

Turkmenistan’s media did not mention the fact that Nobatov headed the President’s Security service.
