In the capital of Kazakhstan, the trial in the case of the former vice-minister of finance Ruslan Ensebayev accused of taking a bribe on a large scale has ended.
Recall, as ACCA has already reported, along with Ensebaev, there were three more people in the dock – the former deputy chairman of the Information Committee of the Ministry of Information and Social Development Alibek Yeskendirov, Zhanbolat Baybosynov (also a former official – head of the print media department of the Communications, Informatization and Information Committee) and the head of the private company “Al-Farabi Partners” Dauren Bukharbai.
According to the investigation, the ex-vice minister received a bribe of $ 15.5 thousand from the head of Al-Farabi Partners, Dauren Bukharbai, for winning a public procurement competition for advertising digitalization of the financial sector for over $ 120 thousand. Zhanbolat Baybosynov acted as an intermediary between the former vice minister and the businessman. It should be noted that the investigation was able to prove only the receipt of a bribe by Ensebaev in the amount of $ 2.8 thousand.
As for the former deputy chairman of the Information Committee of the Ministry of Information and Social Development Yeskendirov, he was also accused of taking bribes from Bukharbai and Baybosynov.
According to the verdict of the court, Ensebayev and Yeskendirov were sentenced to 4 years in prison, and Bukharbai and Baybosynov got 7.
