Akbope Tanirbergen, a journalist of the state TV channel “Khabar 24”, was unable to get inside the building of the mayor’s office of Alatau district of Almaty. The security guard of the state institution intercepted her near the elevator and forcibly carried her out of the building.
Akbope Tanirbergen is the presenter of the TV program “Akims” on the channel “Khabar 24”. The essence of the program is that journalists interview people about their attitude to local authorities. Then all claims and questions are summarized and asked directly to the authorities.
That time, Tanirbergen was going to meet with the mayor of Alatau district and ask him questions, which were collected from the residents of the district. It should be noted that, according to the journalist, the meeting was arranged in advance. However, at the appointed time, the mayor wasn’t at work. As Tanirbergen told her colleagues, she waited for the mayor for an hour, but he didn’t come. Then she decided to go up to his office herself and check if he was hiding from her. However, she was intercepted by a mayor’s office guard at the elevator door. He threw his arms around her and, despite resistance and shouts, carried her out into the street.
“This is how they work in the mayor’s office,” the journalist summed up in a voice trembling with fright.
It should be noted that the cameraman of Khabar 24 filmed everything that happened. An eyewitness of what happened also got on video.
“This is how our fate is decided,” the woman says emotionally to the camera.
Meanwhile, the director of the TV channel “Khabar 24” Alena Gorbacheva said that “the channel is preparing a statement to the police on the fact of obstructing the legitimate professional activities of journalist Akbope Tanirbergen”.
Meantime, employees of the mayor’s office of Alatau district contacted the administration of the TV channel and explained that the guard had acted so harshly because the journalist was without a mask and entered without scanning the QR code “Ashyk” (Ashyk program is now used in all state structures of Kazakhstan. With its help, you can find out if a person is sick with coronavirus, or he/she is a contact person, or he/she is vaccinated).
Meanwhile, Alena Gorbacheva posted two more videos on her Facebook page, which recorded the previous attempts of the journalist Akbope Tanirbergen to get into the mayor’s office and how the guards opposed her.
It’s worth noting that the TV channel “Khabar 24” is one of the subdivisions of the television agency “Khabar”. The sole shareholder of Khabar JSC is the state represented by the Ministry of Information and Social Development.
