Kyrgyzstan: Vice mayor of Bishkek was detained for bribe

When returning part of the previously received bribe in the amount of $ 6,000, the employees of the structural unit of the mayor’s office of Bishkek were caught red-handed. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security.

It was established that the detainees in collusion with the vice mayor of Bishkek in charge of this industry received a bribe from the owner of the cafe in the amount of $ 9,000 for making changes to the project for the reconstruction of Tugolbai Ata (Lineinaya) street, providing for the preservation of the specified commercial facility located along the road being repaired at the expense of a Chinese grant.

During the investigation, the detainees gave confessions about the involvement of the vice mayor of Bishkek in the commission of the noted crime. After that, he was detained and placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.

Presumably, the matter concerns Azamat Sagyndyk uulu, who was appointed to the post of vice mayor of the capital for land issues, architecture and construction on December 4 last year.
