Kyrgyzstan: ex-vice-mayor of capital reimbursed $ 353,000

Ex-vice-mayor of Bishkek Ulanbek Azygaliev, suspected of illegal enrichment, compensated material damage to the state in the amount of $ 353,000 (30 million KGS). This was reported by the State Committee for National Security.

The investigation established that the former vice-mayor of the capital Ulanbek Azygaliev, who has worked in the state and municipal service for more than 20 years, is the owner of a large amount of undeclared property registered in the name of his close relatives and affiliated persons.

On this fact, pre-trial proceedings were started on the grounds of a crime under article 328 part 2 clause 2 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“During the investigation, Ulanbek Azygaliev reimbursed the damage in the amount of $ 353,000 (30 million KGS) to the state budget. At the same time, in the course of the investigation, a tax audit was appointed and investigative actions are being carried out aimed at establishing the exact amount of damage,” the State Committee said.
