Kyrgyzstan: an official, detained with bribe, was acquitted by court

The District Court of Ak-Suu (Issyk-Kul region) ruled on the criminal case of the assistant prosecutor of Djety-Oguz region. This was reported in court.

As specified, the official was acquitted due to the absence of corpus delicti in his actions. Moreover, the court recognized his right to rehabilitation.

“The verdict can be appealed or a presentation can be brought to it within 30 days to the Regional Court of Issyk-Kul through the District Court of Ak-Suu,” the court explained.

On May 22 last year, according to the State Committee for National Security, a senior assistant to the prosecutor of Djety-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region was detained red-handed while receiving a bribe in the amount of $ 2,000 (at the exchange rate for May 2020, it was 150,000 KGS). The materials of the investigation said that the official extorted money from the citizen for a positive solution to the issue related to the mitigation of punishment in the criminal case initiated against his son.
