Kazakhstan: National Security officer tried to kill his wife

The public organizationDont Be Silent, which protects the rights of women and children subjected to violence, published on the official page of its foundation a letter from Aigerim Dyusembekova, the former wife of an ex-employee of the National Security Committee. According to the woman, her ex-husband not only beat her, but also tried to kill her.

“My ex-husband beat me for a year, and on the night of August 26-27, 2018, he tried to strangle me. I wrote the statement to the police. The case was sent to the court October 16, 2018, the Administrative Court of Karaganda ruled that the administrative offense case should be terminated due to the presence of a criminal offense in its actions – attempted murder,” Dyusembekova writes in her letter.

However, according to her, it was not possible to bring her ex-husband to criminal responsibility, because he has relatives among police officers.

“Naturally, the case was closed. Moreover, they lost the evidence. For 2.5 years, we have been suing. There is no hope regarding my appeals to the Prosecutor’s Office of Oktyabrsky district and to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Karaganda. There are certificates from doctors, reports of two forensic experts from 2018 and 2020. After the divorce, he beat me twice, but no evidence is taken into account. Not all of the witnesses were interrogated. My application for a polygraph examination was denied. Please, help me punish him for what he did. Life is scary, I have 2 young daughters,” Dyusembekova turns to everyone who is not indifferent for help.

Meanwhile, as the foundation “Don’t Be Silent” reported, this appeal of Dyusembekova with all the documents, names and surnames of officials, who prevented her from advancing the case, on March 12, the foundation sent to the Police Department of Karaganda. However, there was no response to this appeal.

“Therefore, we decided to involve the media and help the victim with publicity,” the foundation explained.
