In Asaka district of Andijan region, public education officials appropriated more than $ 50,000.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, as a result of the audit, the crime of the former accountant of the Centralized Financial and Accounting Department of Public Education of Andijan in the period of 2019-2020 was solved. He calculated the salaries for 34 fictitious workers and thereby “plundered 527 million sums of budgetary funds”. As of March 30, the exchange rate for $ 1 is equal to 10,486 sums.

Other employees of the Regional Department of Public Education of Asaka issued fake certificates to 24 employees who didn’t pass professional development evaluation, and appropriated 136.1 million sums from the budget. The Department announced the initiation of a criminal case under the article 167 (“Robbery”) and the article 209 (“Fake positions”) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

Earlier, ACCA wrote that in 2020, the territorial divisions of the Department of State Financial Control under the Ministry of Finance, during 4,729 inspections, discovered theft and abuse of millions of dollars.

Cases of theft of cash in the amount of $ 5.2 million have become known (non-receipt of cash received from the bank to the treasury of the organization, illegal payroll, etc.), which is 7.5 times more than in 2019. In Andijan region, financial violations have been identified for almost 20 billion sums.
