Kyrgyzstan: deputy head of Internal Revenue Service of Sverdlovsk district was detained with a bribe

The State Committee for National Security identified officials who had organized a stable corruption scheme to illegally understate tax deductions of business entities.

On March 18, upon receiving $ 2,830 (240,000 KGS) as a reward for assistance in tax evasion, the deputy head of the State Tax Service Department of Sverdlovsk district of Bishkek and an inspector of the State Tax Service of Lenin district of Bishkek were detained.

“In collusion with individual private entrepreneurs, for a long time, these officials have understated tax deductions for imported consumer goods into Kyrgyzstan. The detainees were placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the State Committee said.

Currently, investigative and operational measures are being taken to establish similar facts of illegal activity in the State Tax Service and to determine the amount of damage caused to the state.
