Kyrgyzstan: MP is accused of illegal enrichment

The facts of illegal enrichment on the part of the deputy of the Parliament were revealed. This was announced by the State Committee for National Security.

ACCA managed to find out that it’s the parliamentarian Marat Amankulov from the party “Unity (Birimdik)”.

During the period of his political activity, from 2008 to 2020, the deputy acquired an expensive movable and immovable property, the total value of which is estimated at $ 17.6 million (1.5 billion KGS). The amount of assets greatly exceeds his official income.

“In order to conceal his shadow assets, he registered them in the name of close relatives and affiliated persons who didn’t have officially confirmed income. The property of the deputy includes a shopping and entertainment complex, 14 land plots in Bishkek and Issyk-Kul region, 3 offices and 4 non-residential premises, 5 apartments, a cottage in the recreation center “Caprice”, 3 mansions, as well as 5 luxury cars,” was clarified by the State Committee for National Security.

It’s noted that in order to legitimize the origin of the aforementioned assets, the people’s deputy, before acquiring them, formalized appropriate loans in financial and credit institutions.

Currently, other assets of the deputy are being established, as well as the circle of persons, who were involved in the legalization of funds obtained by criminal way.
