Tajikistan: 295 officials were prosecuted for illegal allocation of land

In 2020, the prosecution authorities challenged 1,055 decisions of the heads of cities and regions of Tajikistan, 865 of them were related to the allocation of land plots. This was announced during a press conference by the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan, Yusuf Rahmon.

According to him, in 2020, 295 people were brought to criminal responsibility for illegal transactions with land plots.

“In particular, 22 of them are employees of local executive authorities, 27 are employees of land committees, 49 are employees of the state unitary enterprise “Bakaidgiri molu mulkigayrimankul”, 43 are heads of rural jamoats [the village councils], 77 are land surveyors of jamoats and 77 are heads of dekhkan farms [family small-scale farming],” noted Yusuf Rahmon.

In general, in 2020, about 9 thousand hectares of land were returned to the state, which were illegally given to citizens.
