Kyrgyzstan: officer of Interior Ministry was detained while receiving bribe

A citizen addressed the Financial Police of Kyrgyzstan and reported that an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was extorting a bribe from him.

As specified, the officer of Interior Ministry demanded $ 3,000 from the victim.

“On December 21 of this year, employees of the Financial Police, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, caught red-handed and detained the Senior Operative of Manas Department of Internal Affairs of Chui region when receiving a bribe in the amount of $ 1.2 thousand (100 thousand KGS),” the press service of the Department reports.

The detainee was placed in the temporary detention center of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
