The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic established the facts of illegal enrichment by Kamil Osmonaliev, the judge of the Judicial Collegium for Civil and Economic Cases of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Department.
On the basis of the collected materials, pre-trial proceedings were started on the grounds of a crime under Article 323 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic “Illegal enrichment”.
“It has been established that Kamil Osmonaliev, pursuing personal selfish goals and a quest of easy profit, without having the appropriate sources of income, purchased numerous property objects, including elite real estate in a VIP township, apartments from leading construction companies, cottages in prestigious boarding houses on the shore of Issyk -Kul lake, commercial objects in shopping centers, as well as luxury cars. In addition, he and his close relatives regularly visited the resort areas of the UAE, Turkey, Asia and the United States,” the SCNS said.
In order to hide the traces of the criminally purchased property, Osmonaliev often didn’t register civil transactions with the relevant government agencies, and in some cases even executed the necessary sales and purchase agreements for dummies.
Also, within the framework of pre-trial proceedings, it was established that the judge provided one commercial organization with undeclared funds in the amount of more than $ 150,000 in order to carry out joint business activities.
It is clarified that it was he who, by his decision, canceled the Decree of the Provisional Government on the nationalization of part of the property belonging to the family of Maxim Bakiyev, the son of the fugitive president Kurmanbek Bakiyev.
“Thus, Kamil Osmonaliev caused multimillion-dollar damage to the state interests. For this decision, the judge received part of the property subject to nationalization as a reward,” the State Committee emphasizes.
On December 15 of this year, the Court of Pervomaisky district of Bishkek elected Osmonaliev a preventive measure in the form of detention in the detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
