Kyrgyzstan: former Director of Opera and Ballet Theater was detained on suspicion of corruption

The Financial Police officers detained the former Director General of the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Bolotbek Osmonov on the fact of abuse of office.

It was established that his decisions, when he was the head of the Opera and Ballet Theater, caused damage to the budget in the amount of $ 11.7 thousand (1 million KGS).

On November 19, the court of Pervomaisky district will issue a preventive measure to the detainee.

In January 2019, Osmonov resigned after a scandal related to the holding of Dota 2 tournament in the Opera Theater.
