Three women were beaten on November 11 in the regional hokimiyat of Karshi after they filed complaints with the Cabinet of Ministers.
A railway woman with 12 years of experience, Dilafruz Dultayeva, was illegally fired from her job. Gulshan Mukhtarova was deceived with the allocation of an apartment, and the teacher Dilsuz Dultayeva was deprived of her hours at school.
The women addressed their problems to the Cabinet of Ministers. Uchkun Khudaerov, who received them, after reviewing the complaints, phoned the regional administration, where he was assured of the prompt satisfaction of the citizens’ claims.
Upon arrival in Karshi, the complainants were asked to come to the regional administration, where they were kept for almost eight hours under the pretext that they were examining their issues. When the women began to resent, the hokimiyat’s officers called the police and National Guard. They started beating all three in the office, hitting the head, neck and legs. Then the applicants for justice were pushed into police car and taken to the police station.
On November 12, in the administrative court, they were sentenced to three days of administrative arrest for hooliganism. They were denied the services of a lawyer and a forensic medical examination.
On this day, the President Mirziyoev arrived in the region and the authorities did their best that nothing would darken his trip. In a conversation with an ACCA journalist, Dilafruz Dultayeva said that after serving a term in a pre-trial detention center, she and her sister are in fact under house arrest, as the National Guard’s detail is on duty near the houses.
Earlier, ACCA wrote about the arbitrariness of the authorities in Kashkadarya region. Because of the houses’ demolition, another tragedy occurred in Kasansky district on February 19. Mukaddas Mustafayeva tried to set herself on fire near the building of the Regional Prosecutor’s office, protesting against the decision to demolish her house. She threw petrol on herself. The flame was put out in time by her 60-year-old father Olim Mustafayev, but he got burns on his back and hands.
