Kyrgyzstan: corruption scheme caused $ 110 million damage to budget

In Kyrgyzstan, a corruption scheme has been identified in which officials of the Social Fund and the State Tax Service are involved. By their actions, the state budget was damaged on an especially large scale, according to the Financial Police.

It was established that the officials created an illegal stable connection in order to illegally obtain material benefits, as well as to provide such benefits and advantages to the gold mining company “KG.K” CJSC.

“As a result, the state budget did not receive additional tax payments and insurance premiums from the said company. The total damage is estimated at $ 110 million (9 billion KGS),” the Department said.

This fact was registered in the Unified Register of Crimes and Misdemeanors on the grounds of the crime, provided for by Article 319 “Corruption”. The investigation is currently underway.
