The former deputy chairman of the State Customs Service was brought to the State Committee for National Security. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security.

Raim Matraimov was detained within the framework of pre-trial proceedings on the fact of corruption in the customs authorities of the republic.

“It has been established that in the system of the State Customs Service since 2016, the former deputy chairman Raim Matraimov, other employees of the Customs Service and controlled participants in the foreign economic activities have established a corruption scheme in customs administration. As a result, the state budget suffered damage on an especially large scale,” the State Committee reports.

Within the framework of pre-trial proceedings, a complex of measures is being carried out aimed at checking the activities of the State Customs Service, establishing the amount of damage to the budget and the circle of persons who are subject to criminal liability.
